Empowerment, Positivity & Compassion are the driving forces behind my brand.

Tell us about yourself and what makes your business unique.

For the past 2 years, I have been a Brand Strategist & Stylist that is dedicated to helping women create consistency and confidence within their brand. This journey is not always easy, but with a “Branding Bestie” the load will definitely feel lighter! I’m also an empowerment speaker, and founder of blessedandbossy.com, the online community that empowers women entrepreneurs. When I first started my business I wanted to create a branding experience like nothing ever seen before and to become known as the go-to branding expert for women in business.

How did you get started in your business?

I was an Advertisement Designer in corporate America for 6 years where I worked in an environment that stunted my creativity and love for design. I decided that the only way to break free would be to create an opportunity on my own. I started as an Etsy Shop creating invitations for special events but soon realized that my passion was in the world of branding.

What has your journey to becoming a CEO looked like?

Being that I had experience as a graphic designer & marketing specialist, the journey was not easy. I was really determined to create a business that would allow me to live life on my own terms. During that journey, I struggled to stay in line with the status quo in order to fit in and look the part. I began to downplay my authenticity and lost confidence in what made me unique.  Empowerment, Positivity, and Compassion are the driving forces behind my brand. This combination has allowed me to share my knowledge and experiences to educate and uplift other women on this entrepreneurial journey. It is my mission to help those women avoid or come out of the mental state that is holding back their brands. To help them find their place, and get noticed.

What are the daily/weekly/monthly tasks that guaranteed the execution of your plan?

What has tremendously help me is deciding on what tasks for my business would be done on certain days. When I was trying to do everything at once I became burned out and disorganized.

For example, I only take client calls/meetings on Tuesdays & Thursdays, and I don’t do client work on Wednesdays. This ensures that I am holding myself accountable to nurturing my own brand while helping others do the same.

I also keep a business journal/notebook that I write in once a day. It allows me to keep track of my business goals, accomplishments, and ideas. I also joined a monthly accountability group that helps me stay encouraged and on track with my goals. Having others to talk to really keeps me focused.

What does your business teach individuals and what makes it standout from your competitors?

My business teaches individuals that successful branding is much more than a logo. It involves having a plan that addresses your wants, needs, and goals for the future. What makes me stand out is that I provide a Partnership, not a product. I work closely with each of my clients to provide them with a listening ear and understanding of their brand vision and goals.

What do you think other businesses need to standout in the competitive marketplace?

To personalize their niche. I see a lot of people doing or going after the same things. Potential clients want to know that you can cater to their unique needs and personalities. When you lack differentiation it takes away from your authenticity.

What has been your biggest highlight of being in business so far?

My biggest highlight is being commissioned to do the branding for several well-known events in the city of Cleveland. Through these projects I have built connections and relationships that I never imagined were possible.

What would 1 bit of advice that you would give to someone thinking about starting a business be?

Make sure that you’re doing it because it’s something that you’re passionate about, as opposed to just wanting to make money. While we all need income, but it’s easy to become burned out and bitter if your heart is not truly in it.

In 5 years from now, where do you see your business?

In 5 years I see myself traveling the world encouraging and educating women entrepreneurs through my public speaking and workshops. While the design is my passion, I know that empowering women in business is my purpose.

What is 1 fun tidbit about yourself that you would like to share?

I LOVE to cook. I enjoy trying new recipes and making people happy with what I create. Oh, and because I love to eat! LOL.

Can you give us some deets’ on some of your upcoming business plans?

I will be launching my podcast called Blessed & Bossy. A platform for women entrepreneurs to share their struggles and their triumphs in running their own businesses.

Are there any other business gems that you would like to share about your business experiences, plans, or lessons?

Don’t forget to celebrate. It’s so easy to keep your eye on the prize and overlook the accomplishments that you’ve already made. It’s important to enjoy the experience and celebrate along the way.
