CEOs w/ Priceless Plan Interview ft: Antres Finnie

Antres Finnie is the CEO of The Robot Rebel. The Robot Rebel is the voice of countless, voiceless women who are hiding in plain sight. Women who avoid sensitive subjects with friends and pretend to be happy in a relationship that does not serve or honor them. Women who have no clue on how to find the exit door from a toxic relationship, or they are uncertain about what to do with life after a toxic relationship. Antres created The Robot Rebel, to share her story and help women who struggle with letting go of poor relationships, mistreatment, and robotic mindsets. Antres states:

CEOs Priceless Plan Antres FinnieHow long have you been in business?

1 year and 6 months.

How did you get started in your business?

Pain led me to my purpose. My curiosity of generational curses, heartbreak, and its impact on the African American females, more specifically Millennials. I began to participate in discussions about empowerment and self-development. I started live streaming to share my story and from there, I created a blog and social media account to begin the dialogue. I continue to study coping behaviors and explore what that looks like for women today.

What are the plans that you had for your business when you first started?

Writing and speaking were both my plans. In which I am humbly able to say I have manifested both, with more to follow. I plan to write my first book and engage in even more speaking and writing platforms.

What are the daily/weekly/monthly tasks that guaranteed the execution of your plan?

I use the good ole’ To Do List. Daily. I write what needs to be done big or small. I also utilize a desk calendar to see the overall monthly view of deadlines and/ or what I need to do for the month. My philosophy is “keep it simple and keep it visual.”

What does your business teach individuals?

The Robot Rebel teaches women to become “unstuck” from what looks right but doesn’t feel right. Teaches women to ask themselves better thought-provoking questions about their life and the way they chose to live it. Most importantly, teaches women how to break away from the robot pack of what success and happiness look’s like. It teaches curiosity. The “What if’s?” “How do I?” “Why should I?” moments. As a woman, you should always ask yourself the above questions.

What is the 1 signature thing that makes your business Get to from others?

The one signature thing that stands out with The Robot Rebel is the message of my story. No one considers breakups or heartbreaks to be TRAGIC ENOUGH. We’ll hear messages like “Keep it moving”, “You’ll get over it.” etc. Then we don’t  consider the effects a broken heart has on a woman. Most often, it’s the stories of ultimate triumphs (death, illness, hardships, etc.) that get the most attention. The thing is, rejection is the number one most destructive experience that will usually make a woman become the worst version of herself, and no one really explores that. Heartbreak is a silent EPIDEMIC, and I want to explore it through awareness using various platforms.

What has been your biggest highlight of being in business so far?

My biggest highlight was being hand selected to speak at an amazing event, created & hosted by some pretty phenomenal industry leaders in entrepreneurship and business. I was able to speak and empower an audience of women from different walks of life about, how to have the AUDACITY, to go for what your heart asks of you every single day. Be a REBEL not a ROBOT.

What do you think other businesses need to stand out in the competitive marketplace?

A distinct voice. Say your purpose, mission statement, and/or core values ALOUD. Now search the competition’s purpose, mission statement, and core values. Does it sound the same? Does your vision align with what actually happens on a day-to-day basis with your audience or clients? Does your natural behavior, words, or dialogue, match up with your overall vision of your brand or company? Distinction + Alignment.=HUGE ways to stand out.

What would 1 bit of advice that you would give to someone thinking about starting a business be?

Just DO your research. There are several business experts and/or coaches from all walks of life, and choose one that relates to your style of work ethic, personality, and learning style. From there, more than likely they will offer a suite of services and products to get you started. Choose what makes sense and JUST DO. Don’t think, JUST DO. Half the battle is done after you just do it. Whether it’s right or wrong, you can really gauge if you are truly sold on your idea and concept. Believe it or not, your first customer is YOU. Sell yourself, to YOU first. Then ask yourself, “would you buy it?”

In 5 years from now, where do you see your business?

Global Speaker, Author, and Philanthropist dedicated to helping women push beyond poor relationships and robotic thoughts about themselves.

What is 1 fun tidbit about yourself that you would like to share?

Just one, lol???!! I will be doing an Improv this Spring/Summer. It will encompass comedy, drama, and stage acting. I love the ARTS! More specifically, comedians and actors. Oh, and Beyonce is my hero! Sorry, I ain’t sorry.  Just had to sneak one more thing in there!  lol.

Can you give us some deets’ on some of your upcoming business plans?

I will be featured this upcoming February, in the Southern Living awarded www.BlushingBlack.com. My article will focus on the misconceptions of Self-Love and how it is not a one-size fit all premise. I am also in preparation to publish my first book!
